Neymar wants to stay at PSG despite rumours

Thu 26 May 2022 | 17:49

Neymar has made it clear that he has no plans to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer, even though Kylian Mbappe just got a new contract.

PSG

spent a lot of money to keep

Kylian Mbappe

from going to

Real Madrid

. This has led to a war of words between the leaders of Ligue 1 and La Liga, and it has been said that

Neymar

could be sold to help pay off the debt.

In fact,

L'Equipe

said recently that PSG is willing to let Neymar go if the right offer comes along, but the 30-year-old isn't interested in leaving. "From my point of view, I really do want to stay," he told Oh My Goal.

"No one has told me anything, but it's pretty clear to me that I want to stay," he said. Neymar has had a hard time in Paris for the past few years. Last season, he played in 22

Ligue 1

games, which is the most he has ever played for PSG and only the second time he has played in 20 games.

Injuries have been a big problem for him, and even though he scored 13 goals and had six assists last year, there are worries about his performance and, more specifically, about whether he is worth his high salary.

Neymar is still under contract until 2025, but he has been linked to a few different teams. The new riches of Newcastle were one of the first to be mentioned, but Neymar is not thought to be interested in a move.
