Barcelona unable to sign Lewandowski - Tebas
The Polish star intends to leave Bayern and Barca is one of his most serious destinations.
La Liga president Javier Tebas has reacted to recent rumors about
Robert Lewandowski's transfer to
Barcelona.
The Blaugrana are set to sign the Polish star in the coming weeks, with reports suggesting Bundesliga's top scorer is set to leave
Bayern Munich. Lewandowski's contract is valid until the summer of 2023, but the 33-year-old star is ready for a new challenge, so negotiations for his extension have not progressed.
Barcelona are hoping to sign the experienced goal scorer in the summer transfer window, but Tebas believes the club's financial situation makes it impossible to sign Lewandowski.
He said:
“The numbers are very easy, you have over €500m losses in the last two years, you have to recover that to sign players.
Lewandowski has a year left at Bayern, between what he wants to earn and what Bayern want as a fee, I don’t see him at Barcelona.”
