Lewandowski in Bayern Munich plans for next season - Nagelsmann

Fri 13 May 2022 | 13:37

The Polish star has been under the radar of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Bayern Munich

coach Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed that

Robert Lewandowski

is in their plans for next season.

The Polish star joined Bayern Munich in 2014 and became one of the best scorers in the history of the club, but he will enter the final year of his contract in the summer. Rumor had it that Bayern would sell their attacking star next summer if not renewed, but Nagelsmann claimed that Lewandowski was in Bayern's plans for next year.

He said:

"He has been training very well, showing good commitment and scoring great goals.

"He will be in the starting line-up tomorrow. His contractual situation is known and I won't give any information about anything else.

"If you want that then you'll have to ask Robert or [sporting director] Hasan Salihamidzic. But otherwise our position is known."

Recently, Nagelsmann announced positive talks between Lewandowski and the club, and Oliver Kahn also denied the sale of the Polish star. Asked whether he has spoken to Lewandowski about his future, the German said:

"I don't have to.

"It's normal he's in my plans because he has a contract until June 2023. I often meet and speak with him. But we don't need to talk every single day."
