Liverpool will fight for the PL title until the end - Klopp

Mon 09 May 2022 | 12:21

Liverpool lost two points against Tottenham but will continue fighting for the Premier League title.

Liverpool

boss Jurgen Klopp has claimed that he has told his players that the competition for the league title is still going on.

Following Liverpool's draw with

Tottenham Hotspur

and City's 5-0 win over Newcastle United, the difference between the two teams at the top of the table reached three points, with only three games left in the league. Liverpool, who are fighting for quadruple, will face

Real Madrid

in the Champions League final and will face

Chelsea

in the FA Cup final. Now the German coach claimed that his team will continue to compete and will fight until the last moment.

"We played a pretty good game against an incredibly organised team. It's not possible to be perfect due to the part of the season we are in now. We have to keep going. Let's go from here.

"I'm not sure [I told the players the title race was still on] because it is obvious. We both have 3 games to play, my concern is how can we win our games. We shouldn't add on points before games are played. Why should we stop believing?"

Asked about Guardiola's recent comment, the German said:

"A lot of people want us to win the league here yes, but the other 50% of people are involved in another fight, or at least until yesterday. After a game, we are massively influenced by games and situations. "What I said after the Spurs game - I wouldn't [say it now]. That was just my feeling at the moment. After City were knocked out by Madrid, that was obviously difficult to take."

"I have no idea if the whole country is supporting us. Maybe he knows more than me. It doesn't feel like that! But maybe he knows more than me."

Asked about FA Cup final against Chelsea, he said:

"If we win tomorrow it will be helpful, if we don't, we have four days to prepare for the final. In an ideal world, we win them all. We have to respond. Our only chance to win things is to win all our football games." "That is tough but we will try."
