Nagelsmann emphasis on keeping Lewandowski for next season

Fri 29 April 2022 | 16:37

The Polish star is approaching the exit doors of the club.

Bayern Munich

coach Julian Nagelsmann has expressed hope that

Robert Lewandowski

will stay at Bayern despite recent rumors.

Lewandowski has scored 33 goals in the Bundesliga this season, 12 points ahead of Patrick Schick, and scored a goal every 81 minutes as the Bavarian side won their 10th Bundesliga title in a row.

Rumors are circulating that the Polish star will leave in the summer, with Spain as his next destination.

Real Madrid

have been monitoring him for a long time and

Barcelona

have recently become interested in buying him. However, Nagelsmann reiterated his hope that Loa would continue to play for Bayern.

He said:

"It's always good when you have planning security in all areas of life. I've said it at least 50 times that of course I wish he would stay, nothing has changed this week. That's my point of view," he told reporters.

Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has scored 82 goals and 19 assists in 86 games since joining the club in January 2020. Asked about the comparisons between the two strikers, Nagelsmann said:

"These are two different types of players that you can't compare. It's like apples and oranges."
