Barca sit second in La Liga after 1-0 win over Sevilla

The Blaugrana beat Sevilla 1-0 in a hard-fought game at Camp Nou courtesy of Pedri’s goal.

Barcelona

climbed up the

La Liga

table to the second place following

Pedri

’s winner in their 1-0 victory over

Sevilla

on Sunday.

Pedri impressively made an effort to net for his side under 20 minutes to go and that was enough to secure the three points for

Xavi

’s men.

Sevilla did not go to the other way much and mostly defended for the most part of the game as Julen Lopetegui saw his side go to the fourth place.

The result has also seen Real Madrid have a 12-point lead on the La Liga table, winning over Celta Vigo on Saturday.

The Catalans were stronger at the start since Ferran Torres and Frenkie de Jong went close early doors. Sevilla had more intent when the second half started, having their first shot on target when Marc-Andre ter Stegen could not be beaten by Erik Lamela.

After the hour mark, the hosts had a shot and in the 72nd minute, they finally found the back of the net, with Dembele setting up Pedri, who delivered delightfully.
