Arsenal won against Wolfsburg in the WUCL after a confetti delay

The unusual happenings at Volkswagen Arena resulted in a five-minute delay at the start of the game.

The Women's Champions League match between

Arsenal

and

Wolfsburg

was postponed due to confetti, which necessitated the deployment of a hoover to clear the field.

The two teams were on the field, ready to begin their quarter-final second leg game, but were incapable to do so due to a large amount of green confetti thrown from the seats by home fans.

A member of the ground crew rushed to sweep the confetti into heaps, while another used a leafblower as a vacuum to suck up as much as possible, causing the game to start five minutes late.

After last week's first leg at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal traveled to Germany with the game tied at 1-1.

After Tabea Wassmuth's first-half header put Wolfsburg ahead, the Gunners needed a last-minute goal from defender Lotte Wubben-Moy to salvage a point.

For much of the second leg in Germany, they were second best, with former Arsenal forward Jill Roord putting Wolfsburg ahead in the first half.

After the half, Jonas Eidevall's team pressed for an equalizer, but Leah Williamson turned Sveindis Jane Jonsdottir's cross into her own net with 17 minutes left to clinch Wolfsburg's triumph.

The winners of the Frauen-Bundesliga will face reigning champions

Barcelona

, who defeated

Real Madrid

5-2 in front of 91,553 people at Camp Nou on Wednesday.
