Arrigo Sacchi addresses the possibility of Milan winning the Serie A

Ex-Milan and Italy manager Arrigo Sacchi acknowledges the Rossoneri aren't the greatest team in Italy, however with the 'proper dedication and professionalism,' they can claim the Scudetto.

AC Milan are topping the

Serie A

standings, leading Inter and Napoli by two points. The Nerazzurri have a match in hand, but they lost 2-0 to Sassuolo at the Stadio Meazza last weekend, allowing Milan to overtake their city opponents.

The Rossoneri also squandered a chance to close the gap on their rivals over the weekend, drawing 2-2 at Salernitana.

In his column for La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sacchi highlighted the Scudetto contest, describing how his former team may win the first Tricolore in almost 10 years.

“The race is exciting and involves Inter, Milan and Napoli. The Rossoneri have proved that they can lose against anyone if they don’t play as a team, even against last-placed Salernitana,” wrote Sacchi.

“Pioli’s team is not the best one in Italy, but play good football. However, if they don’t work as a united group where everyone helps each other, they’ll go nowhere.

“The Rossoneri turned the engine off in Salerno. They often ask me: ‘Can Milan win the title?’ Yes, provided that they find the right commitment and work ethic. They can hide their experience and technical limits only by playing good football.”
