Rebekah Vardy’s lawyer says she didn’t insult Coleen Rooney
Rebekah Vardy’s barrister has denied the allegations against her client.
Wayne Rooney’s
wife
Coleen
has accused
Jamie Vardy’s
wife of calling her
"nasty b****"
in a private message, but Rebekah Vardy’s lawyer
Hugh Tomlinson QC
denies all the allegations saying that those messages were not about Mrs. Rooney.
"This is not a passage about Mrs Rooney, it is a passage about someone else."
The messages were sent to
Caroline Watt
and have been disclosed by Rooney’s legal team, and Mrs. Rooney’s lawyer
David Sherborne
claimed that the messages were about Mrs. Rooney, but Tomlinson refuses to accept their claims.
"If one reads these messages in full, what one sees is that Mrs Vardy expresses shock at being accused and she is here communicating with the person that Mr Sherborne says is her co-conspirator.
"These are obviously candid personal messages, and if she was really concerned - 'Oh, this is terrible, we have been found out' - then it would have been completely different."
The court ordered that Miss Watt’s phone should be searched, but they told the court that her phone had fallen in the sea when her boat crashed to a rock.
Vardy's barrister said:
"That is what happened. Mrs Vardy was not present when that happened. She (Ms Watt) was on holiday, she lost her phone."
