Wed 19 January 2022 | 23:08

Begwijn’s late double secures the victory for Tottenham against Leicester City.

Tottenham

was on the verge of experiencing the first defeat since

Antonio Conte’s

arrival, but

Steven Bergwijn’s

double in the last minutes secured a 3-2 victory for them against

Leicester City

in the Premier League and sent them to fifth place on the table.

Leicester took the lead in the 24th minute of the game when

Patson Daka

opened the scoring for the home side, but

Harry Kane

leveled the game for Conte’s men and reached 250 career goals 14 minutes later, and at the beginning of the second half Leicester was the better team and started the game with more determination.

They finally made it 2-1 in the 76th minute by

James Maddison’s

goal, and it seemed like Spurs was about to experience their first defeat under Conte, but Bergwijn changed things around in the 95th minute and gave his side some hope with apparently no time left, but it wasn’t the end of the match as the visitors kept Leicester City under pressure, and it finally paid off for them as the Dutchman scored another one just two minutes after his first goal and secured the victory for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham and kept the former Chelsea manager undefeated in his return to the Premier League.
