Tite furious at VAR after the incident leaves Raphinha blooded

The Argentina international avoided a red card following the incident that saw Raphinha bloodied and the Brazil manager fumed.

Tite

, the

Brazil

coach, was furious at the VAR and named it “inconceivable” after

Nicolas Otamendi

was not given a red card in their goalless draw in the 2022 World Cup qualifier clash against

Argentina

.

Raphinha

was left bloodied when the incident occurred in the 34th minute as the Argentina international’s arm flailed into the Brazilian’s face.

Referee Andres Cunha and VAR did not sanction the player which left Tite furious.

"

It's impossible not to see the elbow. Was it decisive in the result? I do not know,"

Tite said during the post-game news conference.

"Was it a great match for both teams? It was. Great game between them. Tradition, technical quality. Now, there's a component that has to be equal, for those who have the discernment to see.

"But a high-level VAR referee cannot work like this. It is inconceivable, and that is not the term I want to use, but I use it because I am educated."

Brazil are left six points clear of Argentina in second place in the qualifying standings. However, when

Chile

were defeated 2-0 by Ecuador, Argentina were given their place in Qatar before their game ended.

Brazil lock horns with Ecuador in January as the qualifying clashes continue.
