Leonardo Bonucci, whose side is going to face Zenit Saint Petersburg on Wednesday in a Champions League clash, has spoken to
Amazon Prime Italy
about the departure of
Cristiano Ronaldo, urging the Bianconeri to rediscover the spirit that existed Allianz Stadium pre-CR7 arrival.
"Ronaldo made a choice that we respected,”
Bonucci said.
“Last year the team played for him, now the group must rediscover that Juve spirit that was there before his arrival.”
The Italian veteran went on to talk about how he could have joined the Russian side Zenit years ago, and he decided to stay in Turin.
“I could have gone to Zenit 10 years ago,”
the 34-year-old added.
“Conte told me that I was the last in the pecking order of defenders and that I could find another accommodation.
“We entered talks with Zenit, but I listened to my pride and decided to stay.”
