Wed 22 September 2021 | 20:11

Thiago Motta thought his side were about to score another goal in the game against Juventus but stressed that they played against a team ‘who needed points’.

Moise Kean was able to score the opener in the first half for

Juventus

in their 3-2 victory over

Spezia

. Then, Emanuel Gyasi and Janis Antiste turned the game around for the other side.

Although Federico Chiesa and Matthijs de Ligt were able to help Max Allegri’s men pick up their first win this season, Spezia coach

Thiago Motta

was proud of his team.

“I bring certainties home, for sure,”

Motta told DAZN after the game.

“Even if we were playing at home against a Juventus who needed points.

“We were close to 3-1: in terms of performance, we did well, on other things we need to improve. What was missing? The goal…

“We can talk as much as we want, but if we made it 3-1, it would have completely changed the game.”
