UEFA’s nominees for the player of the year have been announced

Kevin De Bruyne, Jorginho and N'Golo Kante are the nominees for UEFA’s player of the year.

Manchester City’s

high-profile midfielder

Kevin De Bruyne

has been named among the UEFA’s three-man shortlist for the second time in a row following his important role in Manchester City’s success in Premier League and Carabao Cup last term. He also had an important part in the Citizens’ path to the final of the Champions League although he wasn’t able to complete the match against Chelsea because he was substituted, during the match, suffering from a serious injury.

The other two nominees in the UEFA’s list are from Thomas Tuchel’s

Chelsea

that won the Champions League last season.

Jorginho

, who is also on this list, was an important part of Chelsea's squad in the season that they won the Champions League, and his part in Italy’s title-winning squad in the Euro 2020 was how he proved himself as one of the nominees for the UEFA’s man of the year title.

Another Chelsea player who has been in the UEFA’s list of nominated players for the player of the year is

N'Golo Kante

, who has proved himself as one of the best midfielders at the club and international level.
