PSG win the opener against Troyes, Pochettino dodges Messi questions

Paris Saint-Germain signs Achraf Hakimi from Inter with €60 million with an additional €10m this summer. The Moroccan started in style by scoring a superb goal on his first Ligue 1 game to inspire Paris Saint-Germain to a 2-1 comeback victory over Troyes on Saturday night.

PSG

traveled to

Troyes

for their Ligue 1 opener on Saturday. Oualid

El Hajjam's

ninth-minute header gave the host an early lead before

Achraf Hakimi

equalized with a stunner 10 minutes later.

Mauro Icardi

scored the winner for the Parisians two minutes later as the Ligue 1 giants defended their lead through the remainder of the match.

With rumors surrounding the club

over the possible arrival of 6-time Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi, Mauricio Pochettino's side started with a dominant display on the field as they look to recapture a Ligue 1 crown which they have claimed in seven of the past nine seasons.

However, following the hard-fought victory over Troyes, Mauricio Pochettino remained tight-lipped in the post-match conference when was asked about signing Messi.

"His name is associated with different clubs, there are plenty of rumours," Pochettino was quoted as saying by

L'Equipe

.

"We will see what happens in the coming days. The players have stayed focused. We did not start the game well and we gave away too many chances for my liking.

"But we have to give Troyes credit for making it difficult for us, they showed a lot of energy. We would have liked to win 5-0 but we'll take what we achieved."
