Leicester City aiming for Real Madrid star
Brendan Rodgers is counting on the Spanish star to strengthen his midfield.
New Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is reluctant to work with Marco Asensio, so the Spanish midfielder is on the club's sales list. Ancelotti is said to prefer the other options of his team, including Rodrygo and Takefusa Kubo, to the Spanish star.
Therefore, Leicester City see fit to sign Asensio. However, Leicester will have two strong opponents along the way. Rumors in England suggest that Everton and Leeds United also intend to sign Asensio in the summer and there will be tough competition for his transfer.
Asensio, who joined Real Madrid from Mallorca in 2015, has always been known as one of the most promising players in the world. But multiple injuries during this time have prevented him from reaching his full potential. He has suffered a serious knee injury and has yet to return to good form since last year June. However, he made 35 appearances for Real last season, scoring five goals and assisting two.
