Manchester United are seeking to extend center-back's contract before sending him out on a loan.

Axel Tuanzebe

's contract with

Manchester United

will expire next summer, however, the Red Devils have the option to extend the 23-year-old's contract by an additional 12 months.

Tuanzebe has not seen much playing time at Man Utd, starting only six games in the Premier League in his last two season at Old Trafford and with the arrival of Raphael Varane and having Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly as defensive options, Tuanzebe will probably be down the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s pecking order in the upcoming season.

Yet, the Red Devil’s want to preserve the 23-year-old’s value should he go on loan, with the Premier League’s Newcastle seeking to add the young center-back to their ranks ahead of the 2021-22 season.
