Bologna are now close to reaching an agreement with Shanghai SIPG to sign ex-West Ham and Inter forward Marko Arnautovic.
There is no doubt thatBologna
absolutely wants to sign the 32-year-old striker as their manager
has already made positive comments on
Arnautovic himself made it clear that he wanted the move to the Serie A side several months ago.
But there is a problem on his way and that is his current contract with the Chinese club that runs until the end of 2022.
However, the Austrian is confident about being able to make a free transfer in the summer. In the Chinese Super League, several clubs have given rise to serious financial problems in recent months, and Shanghai should have no objection to saving the salaries of the Austrians.
It was reported that he could terminate the deal by mutual consent, but it proved more difficult to do so.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bologna have finally reached an agreement to payShanghai SIPG
about €3m to release Arnautovic.
The player is also reportedly prepared to take a pay cut by spreading the wages over an extended contract to June 2023.
