Belgium secure their third win by defeating Finland 2-0

Belgium have thrashed Finland 2-0 during the third fixture of Group B for the Euro 2020.

During the last two Group B fixtures,

Belgium

, who are leading the group table, have earned 6 points following a 3-0 victory over Russia and another 2-1 win over Denmark.

Finland

, on the other hand, have vanquished Denmark 1-0; however, they were defeated at the hands of Russia in their second game of Euro 2020.

During the first half of Monday’s battle, Belgium were mostly playing attack, with Finland defending extremely well. The Red Devils were dominating the game and had multiple chances to meet the back of the net before half-time but failed to find the target.

When the second half started, Eden Hazard had the opportunity to score the opener for Belgium, but Finland goalkeeper

Lukas Hradecky

pulled off a great save. In the 65th minute, Lukaku had finally managed to net a goal but it was ruled out as offside by the VAR.

Belgium took the lead with the opener scored in the 75th minute courtesy of

’s strike but the ball has bounced back off the unfortunate Finland goalkeeper and into the net. It was named after Hradecky, who pulled off a lot of saves for his country on Monday’s battle.

Lukaku

doubled their advantage soon after the first goal, thwacking the ball into the net from 12 yards.

With Russia suffering a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Denmark tonight, they have finished the group stage sitting fourth on the table and Finland sit third with three points.
