Arsenal midfielder Partey evaluates his first season in England

When the Ghana international arrived from Atletico Madrid, many expected to see him shine, but he admits to having "ups and downs."

Thomas Partey confesses to having "ups and downs" since joining Arsenal for £45 million ($64 million), but the Ghana international believes "all will be OK for next season."

When the 28-year-old joined the Gunners from

Atletico Madrid

, big things were demanded of him, but nagging injuries and collective unreliability hampered his first season.

But there's more to come, and the all-action midfielder is up for the "challenge" of establishing himself as a

Premier League

sensation at Emirates Stadium.

Questioned about his first season in London and hopes for the near future, Partey has told

TV3

:

"Well I think everybody has seen it, there's been ups and downs.

"We've had good times and bad times, but this is my first season and I think I had to adapt to how they play, get used to my teammates.

"I think now I'm getting used to them and I know with hard work everything will be okay for the next season.

"Of course, it's not easy. The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world and if you want to be there you have to be able to do everything well. So I like this challenge and I'm ready to do everything."

In the 2020-21 season, Mikel Arteta gave their big signing 33 appearances throughout all tournaments.

Partey has three assists for the Gunners but is yet to score his first goal for the club.

With only 18 Premier League starts to his name yet, he'll be looking to improve his game next season.

Avoiding untimely injuries will be crucial to those ambitions, as Arsenal will want consistency and continuity if they are to break free from the constraints that have held them back.
