Jose Bordalas named as Valencia manager

Valencia will start the new season with their new coach.

Valencia have announced that Jose Bordalas will take over as club manager.

Valencia

reached the top 16 of the Champions League last year, but in recent seasons have struggled with the financial crisis and have sold several of their big players to improve their financial situation.

The poor economic situation of the Valencia club led them to sign Bordalas , which is a logical option for them. He previously led Getafe, but his team lost to Valencia in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.

Bordalas brought Getafe back to La Liga in their first season them e finished eighth in the second season and had an outstanding performance in the 2018/19 season, finishing fifth place and narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification.

Getafe also qualified from the group stage of the Europa League and lost to Ajax in the round of 16 and were eliminated. However, they did not perform well last season and spent most of the season in the relegation zone until finally, on Wednesday, Bordalas announced that he would leave the club.

Now, his presence in Valencia, given the circumstances of the club, could be a very good option for Los murciélagos to reach their goals given the difficult economic conditions.
