Roberto Baggio talks about his childhood memories

Italian legend talks about the details of his childhood life and the movie about his life.

Italian legend admits that he wasn’t ambitious about participating in a movie about his life but says that his representative had convinced him about the movie that Netflix made about his life.

Letizia Lamartire directed the movie that will be released on Netflix on May 26, and Andrea Arcangeli plays Roby Baggio’s part.

“If it was up to me, I wouldn’t have done it, as I felt it was a bit embarrassing and not really that interesting a story. My manager Vittorio Petrone convinced me.”

He has talked about his relationship with his father and his part in the formation of his character.

“At the start I saw my father as an enemy, but instead he laid the foundations so that I never give up. I feel a great deal of gratitude towards him.

“Sometimes we don’t understand the love and protection our parents have for us as children, but over time we see things from their point of view. I know many people who had issues with their parents and I hope they too can renew that bond.”

He has also revealed the inspiration behind his famous hairstyle at the USA World Cup.

“There was a black waitress in the hotel with these wonderful braids in her hair, we got chatting and within a couple of hours she was there putting my curly hair in the same style. It was just a bit of fun, really.

“When my hair got much longer, I put an elastic over them, but I never thought that ponytail would come to represent me.”
