Joaquin: I want to play at least one more season
The Real Betis icon says he wants to play in a full stadium again before he retires.

. The 39-year-old has featured in 21 league matches for Los Verdiblancos this season as they sit sixth in La Liga with 46 points from their 29 matches. The veteran midfielder is spending the last months of his contract at Betis, but he is willing to play on for at least another year.
“My contract expires in June, but I feel strong and in good shape on both a footballing and physical level,”
Joaquin told
Diario AS.
“I want to continue at least one more year.
“I would like to retire with the fans in the stands, as I want to invite football fans to attend my final match at the Estadio Benito Villamarin.
“I want to play with the crowd present before I retire.”
Joaquin is the second player with most appearances in La Liga’s history. The Spanish midfielder has made 573 La Liga appearances which puts him behind
Andoni Zubizarreta
with 622 games.
