Yaya Toure joins the coaching staff at Olimpik Donetsk

Olimpik Donetsk’s coaching staff has welcomed Yaya Toure.

The 37-year-old retired midfielder

Yaya Toure

has been working on his coaching qualifications and has spent some time with QPR and Blackburn.

The Ukrainian club

Olimpik Donetsk

is his first official team. It is in the same city the former

Manchester City

midfielder spent some time with Metalurh Donetsk from 2003 to 2005, a club that no longer exists.

"

I started my professional career in Donetsk - now I am here to start my coaching path,

" Toure said.

"

Of course, I know that Olimpik is not Metalurh, but I remember well how friendly and open the people of Donetsk were. I am very impressed by the local people.

"To be honest, even my agent was surprised when he found out I wanted to learn to coach in Ukraine, but I was firm in my decision.

"It is not so easy to find a place where (you) can calmly, without unnecessary pressure, study, and where you will be accepted as a friend."

Toure will work under head coach Igor Klimovsky and is passionate to learn as much as he can as well as passing on his own experience in the field.

"

I am confident I can be useful for the Olimpik players, as a professional and a friend,

" he said. "T

o suggest something, share your knowledge and vision of football."

Toure, who has dedicated to three Premier League titles grabbed by Manchester City and La Liga twice when he was with Barcelona, was last part of Qingdao Huanghai and has hung up his boots in January last year.
