Ajax forward accidentally left out of Euro league squad

Haller has performed well at Ajax in recent weeks and has a good record.

Ajax have confirmed that Sebastian Haller, the most expensive player in the club's history, has been left out of the Europa League by mistake.

Haller joined

Ajax

from West Ham last month for 22.5 million euros and became the most expensive player in the history of the club. He has performed very well for Ajax during this period, scoring 2 goals and 4 assists in 6 games. But it seems that the club officials have not mistakenly added his name to the team roster for the Europa League. Ajax confirmed this in a statement.

“He is indeed not on the list, we are trying to find out what went wrong,"

said Ajax spokesman.

"We have contacted the KNVB and UEFA."

Marc Overmars, Ajax's director of football said:

"We think it is too bad [that he's leaving] and have done everything to keep him at Ajax longer.  He has chosen to play football elsewhere after the summer. It's difficult for me to accept, but it's his decision.

"Brian is still under contract with us for a few months, if we need him the trainers will call on him."
