‘We were robbed today’ Rudan furious over Melbourne Victory draw

Western United were held to a 0-0 draw against Melbourne Victory on Saturday.

Western United

scored two goals in their Saturday match against

Melbourne Victory

but the referee ruled out both goals for offside. The game ended in a goalless draw but Western United boss

Mark Rudan

was not happy with the way the referee influenced the final result.

"I just thought we were robbed today - simple as that,"

Rudan said.

"We dropped two points - should never have."

Rudan was asked about the scene where the linesman flagged

Dylan Pierias

offside in the 77th minute.

"Keep your flag down. You've got the ability to go back and have a look at VAR - if you need it," he said.

"He chose not to do that and they bring the goal back and disallow it for offside.

"I couldn't believe that at such a huge turning point of the game.

"Technology's killing us. Any other day of the week that stays onside because you've got to go with the attacking side."

Melbourne Victory boss

Grant Brebner

admits his side have been lucky to keep a clean sheet in their Saturday match.

"We rode our luck in the second half, absolutely,

"But we can look at the first half and say we had some chances that we should have scored as well."
