Man City, Leeds, & Celtic eyeing Hibs’ left-back Doig
The 18-year-old is a regular starter for Hibernian this season and his qualifications have caught the attention of many clubs in England.
,
Leeds United, and
Celticare keen on signing with
Josh Doig
,
Hibernian’s full-back, in the summer.
The 18-year-old has also attracted the attention of
Arsenaland
Chelsea; however, the Blues did not pursue their interest as their manager changed and Thomas Tuchel’s decision on the transfer market is yet unknown.
Doig, who has proved his potential in the Scottish Premiership this season, requires a fee of about £1 million as he became a regular for Hibs.
His contract is due to expire in two-and-a-half years, and Manchester City are eyeing Doig as they are in search of a left-back in their academy team.
Doig has featured in 19 games for the Scottish Premiership side this season and contributed two assists. He has pulled off a talismanic performance with his attacking and defensive abilities. Among his other key attributes are his crossing ability and tireless running.
Jack Ross
said earlier this season: "
At 18 years old, for Josh to have played so many games and made the impact he has is impressive.
"He is growing all the time in stature and becoming more confident. I speak often enough about Lewis [Stevenson] supporting and helping him - and I think that we’ve used Josh sensibly this year, in terms of the times we’ve brought him out of the team.
"But at the moment, he is in the team on merit, which is great for him."
