Liverpool should fight to get back on track - Milner

Liverpool have failed to live up to expectations in recent weeks, and their decline peaked last night with their elimination from the FA Cup.

Liverpool midfielder James Milner believes his players should fight and try to get back on track.

Liverpool, who have had a lot of success in recent seasons and won the Premier League and Champions League, have had poor results this season. They lost 3-2 to Manchester United last night and were eliminated from the FA Cup. Their only win in their last seven games has been against Aston Villa's kids, and now the experienced Liverpool midfielder advised his team that they should fight and try to get back on track.

He told reporters:

“It’s a cup game and the result is the only thing that matters in a cup game, so that’s disappointing.

“I think the boys can be proud of how they played. Disappointed to give away the goals we did, which could have been stopped.

“But we reacted better today to disappointments in the game, better than we have done in recent games, and I think that’s a positive for us going forward.”
