Super Surprises: Saudi Arabia hosts China with its cup!

Transformations and challenges in the journey of Saudi football towards internationalization

Journalistic reports were surprised today, Monday, by a noticeable development related to the possibility of hosting the Saudi Super Cup in China, after submitting an attractive offer during the previous period. This comes after the previous version of the Saudi Super witnessed its establishment in the UAE, and saw Al Hilal snatch the title at the expense of Al Ittihad in the final match with a score of 4-1.

According to what was mentioned by the “Sports” newspaper, it seems that the Saudi Football Federation is inclined to agree to transfer the next version of the Saudi Super Cup to China. The newspaper pointed out that despite the competition that took place between Qatar and the UAE to host the Super, the Chinese offer surpassed all other offers.

Some countries are eager to host the Saudi Super Cup, given that the Saudi Football League embraces many prominent stars, including the legend Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Al Nassr Club.

Both Al Hilal and Al Nassr were able to qualify for the next version of the Super Cup, after settling the first and second places in the Saudi League, while the champion and runner-up of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup will also participate.

In case Al Nassr and Al Hilal reach the final of the current King’s Cup, the teams that occupy the third and fourth places in the league will get the last two cards.

The local Super Cup tournament is scheduled to be held during the period from August 14 to 17, 2024.

It is worth noting that Al Hilal will face Al Ittihad tomorrow, Tuesday, while Al Nassr will meet Al Khaleej on Wednesday evening, within the semi-final competitions of the King’s Cup.
