Young Talent Firth's Ambition: Closing in on Valencia's First Team

According to "The Evening Standard," the 21-year-old prospect is in the process of applying for a U.S.

passport to play through his grandmother's lineage. Berhalter and his team have been monitoring the young player since 2021, expressing recent admiration for his performance in a versatile role, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists in his last season with Aston Villa. He joined Valencia last summer, contributing with two goals and an assist in his first two matches for the club.

Reports suggest an expectation that Firth will be called up to Valencia's first team in the coming months. He has played three matches with the club's "B" team in the third division. It is anticipated that he will join the U.S. national team in the U23 category, with the possibility of making the Olympic squad.

In contrast, both Yunus Musah and Folarin Balogun were eligible to represent England but chose to play for the United States.

Valencia "B" is scheduled to play their next match against Alzira on Saturday, with Firth likely to feature in the lineup.
