Oil Club Goalkeeper Ali Yasin Faces Death on the Field

In a critical moment during the match between Oil Club and Police Club, goalkeeper Ali Yasin suffered a severe and life-threatening injury, causing panic and shock in the Iraqi League.

The incident took place on Saturday as part of the sixth round of the Iraqi Stars League at Al-Zawraa International Stadium in the capital, Baghdad. The horrific injury occurred in the 45+2 minute, just moments before the end of the first half, as Yasin collided with his teammate, a defender who received a powerful blow from the opposing player Ahmed Farhan.

Attempting to capitalize on the fall of the defender and goalkeeper, Ahmed Farhan scored a goal, but the match referee disallowed the goal after a VAR review.

Goalkeeper Ali Yasin was immediately transported to the hospital in an unconscious state due to "tongue swallowing," and as of now, there has been no official statement or clarification from his club regarding his critical health condition.

This marks the second serious injury suffered by goalkeepers in the Iraqi Stars League this season, following a similar injury to Students Club goalkeeper Hassan Ahmed in the fifth-round match against Electricity Club.
