Benjamin Sesko rejected a move to Manchester United

Sesko explained why he chose to join RB Leipzig over Manchester United.

RB Leipzig

striker Benjamin Sesko has admitted he turned down a move to Manchester United.

"The thing is, I wasn't really involved in these kinds of conversations. But I think it was better to come here. It was very important for me to go to a place that plays a similar style of football. I already knew what I had to do and didn’t have to go through a whole learning process again." he told

Transfermarkt.

RB Leipzig announced in August 2022 that Sesko will join them on July 1, 2023, on a five-year deal through 2028, for a rumored transfer fee of about €24 million.

Sesko scored 29 goals in 79 games for Red Bull Salzburg.

This season he has scored three goals in six games for Leipzig. In addition, Sesko has played 22 games for the Slovenian national team and has scored seven goals.
