Xhaka signed a 5-year contract with Leverkusen

Leverkusen announced its contract with Xhaka in an official statement.

And the German club announced, in an official statement Thursday evening, its contract with

Granit Xhaka

, the London midfielder.

Leverkusen said in his statement that Xhaka signed a 5-year contract, which ends in the summer of 2028.

The Swiss international previously played in the Bundesliga for

Borussia Monchengladbach

between 2012 and 2016.

And press reports stated that the value of the deal ranged between 15 and 25 million euros.

Leverkusen announced its contract with winger Jonas Hoffmann from Monchengladbach, through the penalty clause in the player’s contract, amounting to 10 million euros.

Coach Xabi Alonso's team finished last season in sixth place to qualify for the European League competitions, and the German League competition will start on Sunday, August 19 or 20, against

Leipzig

 the German Cup champion.
