Luis de la Fuente : "They are champions"
Spain's head coach praised his players.
defeated Croatia in penalties to win the Nations League championship. Spain's goalkeeper Unai Simon played a crucial role in their victory by saving two penalties.
After the game, Spain's coach, Luis Enrique, spoke to Diario AS:
“I was very calm on penalties. I told them to stay calm. They are champions for me and in training they have earned this”
he said.
Spain defeated Italy 2-1 in the semi-finals and advanced to the final.
Spain won their first major international trophy since Euro 2012.
