Lampard as temporary coach of Chelsea
Frank Lampard is back at Chelsea as the Blues' temporary coach, after Graham Potter's departure.
Frank Lampard has been appointed as the interim head coach of
Chelseauntil the end of the season. Lampard, who played for Chelsea as a midfielder from 2001 to 2014, will be joined by assistants Ashley Cole, Joe Edwards and Chris Jones. Lampard has taken over as the interim-head coach after Bruno Saltor, who had taken the role on a temporary basis after Graham Potter departed the club last weekend. Lampard's appointment is temporary, and it appears that an appointment of a permanent successor is more likely to be made in the future.
Chelsea FC has officially announced the appointment of its former player and coach, Frank Lampard, as technical director of the Blues, until the end of the season, to succeed Graham Potter.
The task of Lampard, who transformed from an icon player for the club between 2001 and 2014 and crowned the domestic league champion 3 times and the European Champions League in 2012 to coach in 2018, will be to lead Chelsea, who currently occupies eleventh place in the English Premier League, to one of the European qualifying positions.
