Arsenal and Aston Villa staff charged by the FA for altercation
Two members of Arsenal's technical staff have been charged by the Football Association (FA) following celebrations during the team's comeback win over Aston Villa
The Football Association has charged technical staff members from both
Arsenaland Aston Villa over an altercation that occurred during their Premier League game in February. Arsenal made a remarkable comeback to win 4-2 at Villa Park, which was secured with a dramatic own goal by former Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
After Arsenal's comeback win against
Aston Villain February, there was a clash between Aston Villa's head of performance analysis Victor Manas and Arsenal's technical analyst Miguel Molina during the celebrations. Now, both members of the technical staff have been charged by the FA.
The win was sealed by a dramatic own goal from Villa's former goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, after earlier goals from Bukayo Saka and Oleksandr Zinchenko had helped the visitors draw level. Gabriel Martinelli added a fourth goal in injury time.
"Aston Villa's head of performance analysis, Victor Manas, and Arsenal's technical analyst coach, Miguel Molina, have been charged following their Premier League game on Wednesday 18 February,"
read a statement.
"It's alleged that Miguel Molina's behaviour and/or language during the 94th minute was improper and/or abusive and/or insulting, and that his behaviour in the tunnel after the final whistle was also improper."
Manas and Molina have until Friday to provide a response to the FA.
