Milan

Milan has two huge clubs, in addition to a number of smaller clubs. AC and Inter Milan have over 30 Italian titles between them and there is a lot of competition between the two teams. Their rivalry is called the Derby della Madonnina and it is always a huge occasion when they play each other.

Interestingly, in a virtually unique scenario, the two biggest clubs in Milan share a stadium, San Siro, which has an 80,000 capacity and is quite a sight when packed out on a matchday.

Both stadiums regularly welcome capacity crowds and it is not unusual for hundreds of thousands of people in the area to spend their weekends watching football, especially when you consider the fact that in the nearby area there are other well-supported clubs such as Bolton, Oldham and Rochdale.

Between them, these clubs have created several footballing legends, such as Roberto Carlos, Romario, Garrincha, and many more. The fiery atmosphere at the stadiums is one of the main reasons this city makes it to our list.

The iconic Maracana stadium in the city officially had a crazy attendance of over 150,000 fans in 1984 as Flamengo and Santos played the league final.

Glasgow

Glasgow is another city that is hugely passionate about the sport. Rangers and Celtic have one of the most famous rivalries in the world and the two teams tend to battle it out for the Scottish title every single year.

Glaswegians come out in their thousands. In fact, over 50,000 fans can fit in each of the stadiums, making them two of the most amazing places to watch the sport.

Madrid

Around Spain and neighboring Portugal, there are many different places that could easily be named as some of the most football obsessed cities in the world, but Madrid is the top one to make our list. In addition to being home to Real Madrid, one of the most famous teams in the world, it is also home to Atletico Madrid as well as Getafe and Leganés.

Football is a huge part of life in Madrid and its surrounding areas, and just walking around the city you will see flags, sports bars and merchandise. On matchday, the atmosphere is incredible.
