Wout Weghorst cherishes his 'absolute dream' Manchester United experience

Weghorst joined

on loan in January from Burnley after his time at Turkish side Besiktas was cut short. Since joining, he has started in every game for the team under coach Erik ten Hag, despite having to defend his position to the press.

The forward is currently with the Dutch national team, where he reflected on how the move to United has been the result of years of dedication and hard work.

"This has been the best step of my career. United is one of the biggest clubs in the world and that's where I play now. It won't get much nicer,"

Weghorst told Dutch outlet VI PRO. 

“You come to United and you notice how big that club really is. How many people are involved, how it lives with the fans. You have to adopt that. Find your way and deal with it. I do that by mainly being myself.

"I have always said that my absolute dream is to get the most out of my career. To reach my ceiling. You can always strive for more or even better or even more beautiful. But look where I am now: with Manchester United, as a starter, at Old Trafford. I am back with the Dutch national team and I have a beautiful family. I am very happy."

has previously expressed his appreciation for playing at Manchester United and was surprised when he learned of his upcoming transfer.

Despite only scoring twice in 18 matches since joining, with no goals in the league yet, his dedication to the club cannot be questioned, as evidenced by his emotional celebration after scoring against Real Betis in the Europa League last month.
