Pep Guardiola claims March will be a decisive month in City’s season

Man City will play in three different competitions in their next three games before the international break.

Pep Guardiola claims that their next three matches in March will define Manchester City’s season. The Citizens will play in three different competitions in these three matches.

Manchester City

defeated Newcastle 2-0 at the Etihad stadium, putting pressure on Arsenal who had been five points clear of City at the top. The Gunners however, went on to complete an amazing comeback later on in the day, winning 3-2 and maintaining the point disparity.

City has Crystal Palace next before a Champions League second leg tie with RB Leipzig, having drawn 1-1 in the first leg, before meeting up with Kompany’s Burnley in the FA Cup.

"Before the international break, we have three games in different competitions that will define our season,"

he told reporters.

"Crystal Palace, RB Leipzig and Burnley. They will define what we want to do for the rest of the season."

In a game that City weren’t as dominant as they were in previous matches, Guardiola praised his side’s tenacity to get the result against a tough opponent.

"It's

Newcastle

,"

he added.

"They are an exceptional team. The set-pieces from [Kieran] Trippier, every corner, every kick, they are in a great position.

"They have an exceptional holding midfield. [They were] in the final of the EFL Cup a week ago.

"They've been in the top five all season. It's an incredible result for us, because it was a tricky game."
