Arteta hails Arsenal's confidence after comeback victory over Villa

After a 2-1 defeat in the first half, the Gunners fought back to secure a decisive 4-2 victory over Aston Villa that sends them back to the Premier League's summit.

Bukayo Saka and Oleksandr Zinchenko equalized for Arsenal twice at Villa Park before a late drama secured the Gunners all three points. An own goal from Villa's goalkeeper Martinez from a deflected shot by Jorginho made it 3-2 for Arsenal in the 90th-minute before Martinelli made it 4-2 for the Gunners late in the stoppage time.

Asked about his half time speech, Mikel Arteta told his post-match conference: "

At half time we said the moment is now, we have to raise the individual level if we want to come out and win the game.

"I feel it’s back with more belief than before. Today we have to put something else and there’s still a lot of things to improve."

On Jorginho's performance, Arteta added:

"I certainly didn’t expect that from him. I thought he was tremendous today."

Providing an update about Saka's injury, the Spanish coach said:

"He’s fine. He got kicked quite a lot today. He’s going to have to deal with that because it’s his game.”

The Villa boss, Unay Emery said after the game: "

Embraasing to lose two matches 2-4 at home. The performance was, overall, poor.

"We didn't keep going in our game plan to try and control the game with more possession, with good positioning, trying to attack. Not only in transition, because in transition we are losing the ball."
