Arteta opens up about Saliba and Saka’s contract talks

Edu’s most important task with the transfer window closed, is to tie down key stars

and

to long term contracts.

The Gunners have already extended Gabriel Martinelli’s contract till 2027 but have to move fast to extend the other two’s contracts since teams like PSG and Manchester City are sniffing around.

When Arteta was asked about the fact that would these contract extensions take care of themselves like in Martinelli’s case, Arteta said:

"Yeah, they will do. In the same way we dealt with Gabi, we’ll deal with the rest. Things need time sometimes but we are delighted with the news of Gabi obviously."

Arteta went on to praise Saliba’s partner Gabriel as well, who also has extended his contract with Arsenal.

"Not only his performances, but I think the way he’s evolving,"

Arteta said.

"I think he’s getting better in every phase of play and everything that we demand him to do. His leadership in the team, his mentality as well.

"I think he’s come a long way since he joined the club."
