Mesut Ozil’s agent rules out retirement rumors
The 34-year-old has struggled for form and fitness since joining Basaksehir after Fenerbahce terminated his contract. His representatives rule out his retirement amid speculations from Turkish outlets.
joined Fenerbahce from Arsenal in January 2021. The former Real Madrid player scored 8 goals in just 36 appearances for
Fenerbahce. Earlier in the summer, Ozil dismissed claims that he will soon leave. However, the Germany international was dropped from the Fenerbahce squad and also was suspended by the club in March. He later revealed that he went six months without being paid before eventually joining
Istanbul Basaksehir.
However, things didn't go as he planned in Istanbul Basaksehir as reports in Turkey suggested that Mesut Ozil is ready to retire after struggling through the last couple of years. However, his management team ruled out such an estimation.
Ozil’s representatives have told the

“there’s nothing to it
” when it comes to talk of immediate retirement being considered. They went on to add that:
“Mesut Ozil will definitely finish the season at Basaksehir.”
