Chelsea trying to hijack Arsenal's move for Mykhaylo Mudryk

Chelsea has entered the race to sign Arsenal transfer target, Mykhaylo Mudryk in the January transfer window.

According to Sky Sports,

Chelsea

is considering making a bid for

Mykhailo Mudryk

. Shakhtar Donetsk director Darijo Srna will be in London this week to meet with Chelsea owner Todd Boehly.

Chelsea has already signed Ivorian forward David Datro Fofana and reportedly is close to signing Argentina’s World Cup-winning midfielder Enzo Fernande for £105m.

Mudryk has been

Arsenal

’s number one target in the January transfer window and both clubs are continuing conversations. Reports on Wednesday suggest that Shakhtar Donetsk has rejected Arsenal’s second bid worth £62m for Mudryk despite the player pushing the club to accept Arsenal’s offer.

Sky Sports claims that Arsenal is prepared to improve their offer albeit Shakhtar wants around £85m for the winger. The report says that Arsenal is Mudryk’s priority and the English club is confident they will find a compromise with Shakhtar. Mudryk recently admitted that he can not say no to a club like Arsenal.

The 21-year-old Ukrainian footballer has scored 13 goals in 45 matches for Shakhtar. Darijo Srna, Shakhtar Donetsk's director of football, recently claimed Mudryk is the best player in Europe in his position after Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior. Shakhtar believes he is better than Antony who joined Manchester United for £86m in the summer and they want around that figure for their player.
