Ten Hag gives a brusque reply in regards to Jadon Sancho’s fitness

Aaron Wan-Bissaka may be nearing match-fitness but Jadon Sancho is nowhere near as fit, according to ten Hag.

United boss Erik ten Hag gave an update on the Red Devils injured players, bearing bad news about

Jadon Sancho

as he seems nowhere near a return to action for United.

The Red Devils took on Burnley in the Carabao Cup round of 16 last night, defeating them 2-0 with goals from Christian Eriksson and Marcus Rashford but all eyes now have turned on the Premier League’s return and whether players like Wan-Bissaka and Sancho are available for the restart of the league.

When quizzed about whether Sancho is available for United’s next game selection, ten Hag bluntly replied: “No.”

The Dutch tactician went on to admit that there is no timeline for Sancho’s return to action. However, his update on

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

was more in depth, as he said:

"Aaron Wan-Bissaka, it is clear he has a future. He's had some good years with United, but from the start of this season he had a lot of illnesses and injuries, and so was running behind.

"His fitness levels are getting better, his performance levels are getting better.

"When you get an assist, especially the way he got that assist with his movement and the right moment, the timing and then great pass of course from Bruno [Fernandes]. But this is great and so I'm happy with his performance. He did good."

Sancho was injured in

United

’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea on October 22, ruling him out for a possible World Cup call-up with no possible return date.
