Brazil 4-1 South Korea: Magnificent Brazil make quick work of Korea
Brazil’s Joga Bonito was on full display as they trampled over South Korea to head off into quarter finals.
South Korea was handed a tough draw after their last-minute heroics against Portugal saw them beat Uruguay into qualifying to the last-16. But Tite’s men needed only a half to finish off South Korea as they beat them 4-1 by the end.
With Neymar back in the side after his worrying injury,
Brazildidn’t show any mercy in the first half and were already up 4-0 inside the first 36 minutes of the game.
Vinicius Junior opened Brazil’s account early on but Neymar’s penalty a few minutes later showed that Brazil meant business. The game was then killed off with two beautiful team goals by Richarlison and Lucas Paqueta as they made it 4-0 heading into the break.
After making a couple of changes in the half time,
South Koreawent on to give a much-improved performance in the second half. They showed to be a threat on several occasions, forcing Liverpool stopper Alisson into several saves but Korea finally managed to score on a rebound with a stunning long-range effort from Paik Seung-ho.
However, Paik’s goal proved to only be a consolation goal as the game was already too gone for Korea to recover. Tite spent much of the second half on bringing on squad players, even the third keeper Weverton, to rest his players for their eventual quarter finals match.
Brazil now heads into quarter finals, ready to face Croatia on December 9.
