Qatar 1-3 Senegal: Senegal wins the Battle of Losers
Senegal and Qatar kicked off the second game week of the World Cup's Group A while both teams lost their first match, respectively to Netherlands and Ecuador. AFCON champions triumphed over their rivals while Qatar became the fifth host to lose their back-to-back opening matches.
After losing their opening group games, Senegal faced the host, Qatar with both sides needing a win today to keep themselves in contention for a knockout place.
