Rayo Vallecano's Fran Garcia reveals Real Madrid’s €5m buyback option
Despite having Ferland Mendy covering the left-back position for a long time, Fran Garcia reveals he has a €5m buyback option that is likely to be used by the Los Blancos if they have any defensive exits.
With Ferland Mendy locking down the first-team left-back spot, he forced other left-backs to leave

However, speaking to
Relevo, Garcia reveals the Los Blancos may execute their €5m buyback option in the summer. He said: “
That market depended on other players, on other movements. There were things that didn’t happen, so I didn’t have to change much either.
“I was happy at Rayo and in the end I am proud to continue defending the strip. Hopefully we finish the season in the best possible way.”
Asked whether he would be happy to return to the Los Blancos, Garcia said:
“Yes, I have always said it and I have never hidden it: one of my dreams is to return to Madrid. But I’m also clear about the things I want right now and what I have to do.
“Rayo has bet on me and I am delighted to be here. I try to give my best on and off the pitch, keep improving and be the player I’ve shown so far.”
