Allegri urges Juve to use their anger in the Europa League

Juventus lost to PSG at home and dropped down to the Europa League which prompted Allegry to rally his team to “be angry and immediately resume work”

Continuing their miserable record in this season’s Champions League, Max Allegri’s team lost at home 2-1 against

PSG

on Wednesday night. This would mark only the second time an Italian side lost 5 out of 6 group matches in the UCL with the last being AS Roma in 2004-05 season.

Benfica came to the rescue though as they put 5 past Maccabi Haifa, ensuring

Juventus

the third spot and a place in the Europa League. Juve must now play against one of the 8 second-spot teams from Europa League’s group stage.

"We played a good game, it's a shame about the result,"

Allegri told the reporters.

"We are in the Europa League, from tomorrow we must turn the page for the championship. We must be angry and immediately resume work and walk.

"On one hand there is reason to be satisfied to have reached the Europa League, on the other hand there is anger for the elimination from the Champions League.

"I'm still very angry and we have to carry this anger inside us in the next games in Europe."

With no doubt, Juve will be considered as one of the favorites to win the Europa League alongside the likes of

Barcelona

, Arsenal and Manchester United and one player who could help them achieve that is Enrico Chiesa who has only recently returned to training after being sidelined for the past 10 months.

"He has a lot of desire, he must be managed until the World Cup. We have to take time to have him in the best condition in January,"

Allegri commented on Chiesa.
