Man City crushes Man United 6-3 with Foden and Haaland hattricks

In an eventful Manchester Derby, Phil Foden and Erling Haaland both scored hattricks as Manchester City dominates their local rivals with a 6-3 victory.

scored twice in the first half of the Manchester derby as the teams headed to dressing rooms after the half-time whistle with a decisive 4-0 scoreline. A 56th-minute goal from

Manchester United

's Brazilian winger, Antony, gave the visitors the hope of a comeback.

However, City responded quickly to shut these hopes as Haaland and Foden scored again to make it 6-1 for

Manchester City

. A late brace from Anthony Martial consolated the result for United as the Manchester derby ended with a 6-3 home victory for the Citizens. With the three points they gained on Sunday, Man City continued their chase of the Premier League leaders Arsenal with only one point behind the Gunners.

The Citizens put an end to Manchester United’s 4-game victory run in a game they dominated their arch-rivals from the first minute.

Man United

sits 6th on the Premier League table two points behind the fourth-placed Brighton and one point behind Chelsea.

told his post-match interview:

“It’s a dream come true, being a City fan. We were right at it from kick-off and we took our chances. [Who gets the matchball?] I think we get one each, no?"

While the other hattrick hero,

Erling Haaland

, responded:

“Yeah, not bad. We scored six goals, what can you say? It’s nice. We always want to go forward, we always want to attack. This is what I love about the team. In the end, it’s amazing. There’s nothing more to say."
