After Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay got sidelined on international duty with the Netherlands, Bellerin's calf issue worsened Barcelona's injury woes.
After starting the season with the full squad available, the past week has given
Barcelona’sboss Xavi plenty of fitness concerns as he has lost three of his key players during the international break.
The club confirmed their summer signing,
Hector Bellerin, has suffered a calf injury during a training session on Tuesday. Bellerin is set to "undergo a series of tests to determine the full extent of the trouble" as
the club confirmedhis fitness will be assessed further.
Frenkie de Jong
and
Memphis Depay
were also injured on international duty with the Netherlands as Barcelona heads a busy schedule in October.
Barcelona will face Inter twice and Bayern Munich once in the Champions League while they will have to face their arch-rivals
Real Madrid
in La Liga next month, with other tricky league clashes against Villarreal, Athletic Bilbao, and Valencia.
Beginning his career at Barcelona, Hector Bellerin spent the majority of his career at
Arsenal
. However, despite a quick peak at the Premier League side, he fell out of the pecking order once Mikel Arteta took the reign as the manager of the Gunners. He joined the Blaugrana on the transfers deadline alongside
